UMW Industrial Power Services Sdn Bhd (UIPS) primary business activities are the sale and service of industrial power products mainly air & gas compressor, petrol, diesel, gas engine & gas turbine generator sets, marine propulsion engines and pollution control equipment.
We also offer customized compression and power generation packages for hazardous area application to meet specific customer requirements. Our project team are capable to execute power generation projects on EPC basis to deliver complete engineering, site construction, installation and commissioning services. Our workshop and testing facilities are equipped to perform comprehensive maintenance, repair, overhaul (MRO) and training for all our products.
At UMW, we seek to provide a flexible, broad approach and product range when it comes to marine and power equipment. As the sole distributor, packager, contractor and service provider of renowned names such as CompAir, Ingersoll Rand, Cooper, Mitsubishi, Honda, SDEC, Kohler, Baker Hughes and Desmi, this subdivision has established a firm foothold in the manufacturing, construction, utilities, oil & gas, mining, ports, marine and government sectors.
Air and Gas Compressors
We have more than 40 years of experience and proven track record in compressed air system solution, utilizing various types of screw (COMPAIR), centrifugal (INGERSOLL-RAND) and reciprocating (COOPER) compressor packages to fulfil various applications including hazardous area applications for the oil & gas industry. Our capabilities include distribution, engineering, installation, commissioning, warranty, maintenance services and training.
Diesel Engine Generators
With over 30 years of experience and mastery in the business of generator sets, we have expanded our product range to include SDEC genset, approved by JKR for backup up power solution between 40 to 2250 kVA for the government projects as well as the private commercial and industrial sectors.
We have been appointed as the authorized distributor of KOHLER industrial generators. Ranging from 10 kVA to 4500 kVA, KOHLER generators serve the government, healthcare, utility, telecommunications and other industrial market segments. KOHLER generators provide critical backup power for data centers and comply to Data Center Uptime Institute® Tier lll and Tier lV design and operational requirements.
We are also an OEM who have vast knowledge and experience to design and assemble new diesel emergency generator packages utilizing multi renowned engine brands in accordance with specification and standards imposed by our utility and oil & gas clients. Our references include Petronas, TNB and Telekom and we have signed long terms service contracts with these clients as well.
Gas Turbine Generators
We have also enhanced our EPC capabilities and skills to construct various types and sizes of Cogeneration plants, a collaboration with our partner BAKER HUGHES who are well known as the leading manufacturer of gas turbine generators in the utility and oil&gas sectors. We are the authorized Channel Partner of Baker Hughes for their Nova LT Gas Turbine Generator set.
We offer complete EPC energy saving solution for our clients in various industries such as petrochemicals, pulp & paper mills, gloves, pharmaceuticals, downstream refineries, district heating & cooling, textiles, oleo chemicals, food & beverages, etc.
Honda Engine and Generators
UIPS has secured its position as the sole distributor of HONDA Power Products in Malaysia and Brunei, providing a series of top-quality 4 stroke general-purpose gasoline engines, brush cutters, generators, water pumps and power tillers. These products have passed quality, reliability and durability tests and have proven to be economical and environmentally friendly.
Marine Engines
We distribute MITSUBISHI and SDEC range of high performing marine engines that have been designed not only to comply to the latest international emission standards, but also meets the requirements of various international classification societies, including those in the top 10 list of 2018 such as Class NK, Bureau Vitas and the American Bureau of Shipping. Mitsubishi engines are designed to perform in a variety of applications, from fishing boats, tug & barge, passenger ferries to offshore support vessels.
Oil Spill Equipment
When it comes to recovering delicate ecosystems such as the marine and island environment from oil and chemical spills, DESMI Ro-Clean has both the best manufacturing facilities and the most renowned and proven oil spill control system in the industry. It provides key equipment and specialist systems that have been used in all the major oil spill response operations around the world, with a highly-skilled engineering team responsible for the custom design and manufacture of solutions for most applications, even in the harshest environments, including the Arctic. This company also offers equipment consultancy services including audits, providing contingency plans and identifying operational gaps, specialized training and International Marine Organization (IMO) certification.
