Pennzoil made its debut in Malaysia towards the end of the 1960s. Pennzoil products had initially been marketed by UMW Auto Parts Sdn Bhd. In 1991, Pennzoil USA embarked on a major globalisation programme and decided to deepen its penetration of the Malaysian market, subsequently assigning UMW Holdings Berhad the exclusive marketing and distribution rights to Pennzoil.
