UMW is the largest shareholder of Perusahaan Otomobil Kedua Sdn Bhd with a 38%-interest. The company started operations in early 1994, unveiling its first model, the Kancil. In August that same year, Perodua’s headquarters relocated to a 200-acre, multi-purpose site in Rawang, Selangor.
The sales, marketing and distribution functions are structured under another Malaysian-owned subsidiary while the manufacturing operations of Perodua are managed by a partnership that includes Daihatsu Motor Co Ltd.

Perodua’s headquarters is located on a 138-hectare site in Rawang, Selangor Darul Ehsan. It houses the Perodua corporate building, research & development testing laboratories and styling studio, vehicle testing track, manufacturing plant, engine plant, pre-delivery inspection area, vehicle distribution stockyard and parts warehouse, among others. |
